Researchers have found that resveratrol, a natural compound found in many foods such as peanuts, cranberries, grapes, and pistachios, may assist in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. Resveratrol naturally has anti-thrombotic and anti-inflammatory properties, therefore giving reason to believe it could lower COVID-19 associated mortality, which can be increased by thrombosis and inflammation.

In conclusion, the researchers believe that resveratrol appears to be an attractive pharmacotherapeutic agent in the fight against COVID-19. The authors do also mention some of the limitations of the compound, like poor bioavailability and rapid metabolism.
