The US Agricultural Marketing Service has published an interim rule implementing a recommendation from the Administrative Committee for Pistachios to decrease the assessment rate established for the 2016-17 and subsequent production years from $0.0035 to $0.0010 per pound of assessed weight pistachios handled under the marketing order.Although the rule is effective since September 19, 2016, the comment period is open until November 16, 2016.Federal Register Vol. 81, No. 180.
