The US Agricultural Marketing Service has proposed to increase the assessment rate established for the 2016-17 and subsequent marketing years from $0.0379 to $0.0465 per kernel weight pound of assessable walnuts.The recommendation comes from the California Walnut Board and the assessment rate would remain in effect indefinitely unless modified, suspended, or terminated.The final date for comments is October 17, 2016.Federal Register Vol. 81, No. 180.
