EU: Increased Level of Official Controls

According to the European Federation of the Trade in Dried Fruit & Edible Nuts, Processed Fruit & Vegetables, Processed Fishery products, Spices, Honey (FRUCOM), some changes have been proposed to the list of products subject to increased official controls at EU borders (Annex I to Regulation 669/2009).It has been proposed the addition of Peanuts from Bolivia (50% of control frequency for aflatoxins) to the list and the reduction of the control frequency (from 20% to 10% for aflatoxins) in pistachios from USA.If approved, the new changes would become applicable on 1 January 2017.For further information, please contact us at inc@nutfruit.org.
