On March 14, 2017, the European Parliament adopted the draft legislation regarding recycling and landfill targets. Parliament will now negotiate with Council of Ministers.The draft proposes an increment of the share of waste to be recycled from 40% to 70% by 2030. In addition, “waste package” plans to limit the share of landfilling to 5% and to deliver a 50% reduction in food waste by 2030 are contemplated.The draft must also be accepted by the Council of Ministers.Press release
